Kuroshitsuji II takes place in late-nineteenth century England, where the Trancy household resides. It is set one year and three months after the dramatic conclusion of the first season. The second season introduces two new main characters: Alois Trancy, a sadistic yet cheerful earl with a tragic past, and Claude Faustus, his impassive, enigmatic butler with superlative talent. After the second episode, the season mostly follows Ciel Phantomhive and Sebastian Michaelis, and the characters of the Phantomhive household, including Elizabeth Midford.Ĭiel was presumed dead at the end of the first series, but Sebastian had, in fact, never succeeded in devouring Ciel's soul to begin with.
